Alan Zimmermann

Co-Founder and CEO

Alan has spent 30+ years in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) as a service delivery executive. He works closely with clients to understand and translate their needs into cultural transformations that align his team towards delivering an amazing client experience. Alan first started working in the Software Defined Networks (SDN) space over 10 years ago and has taken the knowledge acquired then and complemented it with his network and security operations experience. He is guided by his strong belief that in order to deliver the best experience for clients, successful leaders need not only to support their teams, but to hold them accountable to their actions and commitments. Alan has an E-MBA from the Ivey School of Business.

Brad Lagasse

Chief Product & Revenue Officer

Brad Lagasse joined Ethica as a board advisor in December 2021 and transitioned to a full-time role in November 2022, where he leads commercialization and product development efforts. With a career deeply rooted in technology sales and management, Brad has consistently demonstrated expertise in driving business growth and fostering innovation. His extensive experience includes co-founding and successfully exiting Springboard Management, a software company, and over two decades in the networking infrastructure and security industry since 2001.

At Ethica, Brad is focused on expanding the global partnership channel, increasing revenues, and providing strategic guidance for the future state of Ethica’s software solutions. Outside the office, Brad is passionate about mentoring the next generation through youth hockey coaching at the local rink.

Paul Marley

CTO

Paul has over 20 years experience in the IT industry, primarily focused on delivering business value based on best practice software and systems development. As the Director of Software Engineering, Paul is in charge of exploring emerging technologies, assessing their impact on the company’s business, and recommending new strategies and solutions. He is passionate about leading teams to deliver a scalable and secure infrastructure that supports rapid growth. Before joining Ethica, Paul served as a technical leader in many organizations focused on building agile, impactful teams that delivered business-critical solutions.

Jeff Brunet

Board Chairman

Jeff is a Managing Partner at GreenSky as well as an active angel investor and advisor to a number of private Canadian startups. Before joining GreenSky, Jeff founded five technology startups and as an investor, founder, and operator, has achieved successful exits with prominent companies, including, Google, Apple, HP, Calabrio (Thoma Bravo), Opera Software, and Bitfone. He is also the holder of 30 granted patents across artificial intelligence, wireless technology, and consumer electronics. In his free time, Jeff enjoys playing guitar and golfing with his wife.

Glenn Fraser

Board Director

Glenn Fraser is the Senior Vice President, Private Enterprise at MNP LLP, based in Toronto. Glenn has 30+ years experience offering strategic business advice and support to privately held companies at various stages of their lifecycle. Prior to his current role, Glenn was on the board of directors for MNP for 7 years finishing his tenure as lead director. He also served on the board of directors of Toronto Zenith Contracting, IntePac Technologies, and was chair of the board of Childhood Cancer Canada for 8+ years. Glenn holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from York University and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), having qualified as a Chartered Accountant (CA).

Marian is a Managing Partner at GreenSky. She was previously the Lead Portfolio Manager and Research Director at Sionna Investment Managers, a Toronto-based boutique asset management firm. Marian holds a BA in Economics from Yale University and is a CFA ® charterholder.

Neil Peet

Neil is a Partner at GreenSky Ventures and has been investing in the Canadian tech ecosystem for the last decade. Previously he worked as a Senior Consultant at SECOR/KPMG Strategy Consulting. Neil has been a founder and former owner/operator of a software development company and holds an HBA from the Ivey School at Western University and an MBA and MGA from the University of Toronto.

Valdis Martinsons

Senior Advisor

Valdis is the Chief Technologist at GreenSky. He was previously the Chief Information Officer at Research in Motion and the Chief Technology Officer at Virgin Mobile Canada. He also held senior executive roles at ATI Technologies and A.G. Simpson Co. Valdis holds a BASc, an MASc in Computer Engineering, and an MBA from the University of Toronto. In his spare time, he snowmobiles the Great White North.
